On Packing

My bags are always packed so whatever I can do to stay organized and make more space for future in-country purchases, I do it! These are a few of my favorite things...(yes, imagine me singing the Sound of Music hit) that help make packing less painful.

Easing Your Mind

The most difficult thing about packing is the nagging suspicion that you are going to forget something, which you probably will. While making lists can be quite helpful, adding another chore to the already consuming task of packing is not exactly ideal. The supremely handy "Pack This!" pad has thought of everything for you. Just tick the boxes of the things you'll need and proceed to pack. If you still end up leaving something behind, perhaps you cannot be helped.

Covering Your Unmentionables

The idea of a strange man (or woman) rummaging through my luggage during a "routine" search isn't really my idea of a good time, and I am always the lucky recipient of a "random" search. This ever discreet Spacepak Lingerie bag from Flight 001 tucks away all of your unmentionables quite nicely and even has an additional side for laundry. In fact, at no time, through all amounts of perfectly-packed-suitcase destruction (i.e. searches) by customs officers, my lingerie bag has not been opened once.

Great, Wet Swimwear

Taking that last ocean dip before your flight seems like a great idea, and it is. However, wet swimwear packed with luggage equals a rather unpleasant smell. To maximize all ocean opportunities and still manage to keep your bags stench free, this Wet Suit bag from Flight 001 solves your problem. Small and perfect this bag keeps wet swimwear from smelling and from wetting anything else near it. Must have.

Marking Your Territory

My go-to piece of luggage is an ideal duffel bag type from Costco that also functions as a proper suitcase. However, this bag is so ideal that no matter where in the world I travel to, there are at least 3 of the exact same bags (not including mine!) spinning around the conveyor belt in baggage claim. This can be very exasperating and cause you to drag several bulky bags off the belt to examine more closely before determining which one is in fact yours. In order to avoid doing this, your luggage must be well marked. There's no secret of my love for Sportsgirl, and these luggage tags provided more excitement to me than luggage tags probably should, but that is beside the point. Get some that you love and mark your bags well!
